It's called rhodium because it starts with Rh.

Brief:

To create a site for a professional writer with easily identifiable areas and an interface that enables you to jump directly to relevant links. The site needs to be cross-browser compatible, since visitors are often using school computers with older browsers.

Design:

This style rhodium replaces an earlier spacestation interface. The silver button icons add a sci-fi edge to the blues and greys colorset, each area shows as a tab when moused over and second level menus appear to individual pages, extra link information relevant to each page appears on the right hand side. A navigation path appears on each page and a different silver icon to indicate how each page relates to the site.

Conclusion:

This site is a work in progress and the ultimate intent is to replace some of the menubars with a more graphical photorealistic interface. However, at the moment its accessibility is high and all the appearance is controlled by a stylesheet and a small amount of JavaScripting.
