Armadillo Magazine

Brief:

To create a site for a childrens books review publication. Armadillo previously existed as a hard copy magzine, published quarterly, the new layout needs to include a current issue page (for members only) that emulates the hard-copy layout and archives (for all visitors) that list all the individual review pages.

Design:

This style JustSo is a very simple layout. Use of banner headers for Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter remind visitors of the quarterly publication of the magazine, as the header changes with each new issue. The current issue page is a straightforward list of links, with different sized heading levels for each subsection of reviews. The archives list the reviews by these subsection titles e.g. junior fiction, picturebooks, teenage. Each review page includes a direct link to buy the book from Amazon UK.

Conclusion:

This site is reminiscent of the hard-copy of the magazine while taking advantage of multiple links so content can be easily accessed.
