Gemma and Alice are best friends - in fact they were born on the same day. They have been together ever since and when Alice and her family move to Scotland the two girls are devastated. When Grandad has to go to Scotland Gemma goes too to spend the day with Alice, but it is spoilt by the appearance of Alice's new friend, Flora, who is everything Gemma is not. Trendy and girly with long blonde hair. Alice's mum has become a snob, forever boasting about her new house and it seems as though Alice is changing too.
