Only eight of them but with some sublime combinations: I like to think Jane Ray's The Beginning of the Armadillos might have been inspired by the masthead she drew for this magazine six years ago. Peter Sis's Whale, Clare Melinsky's Camel, Cathie Felstead's Leopard and Jeff Fisher's Kangaroo all seem marriages made in heaven.
I found Loise Voce's Elephant's Child and Satoshi Kitamura's Cat (he who Walked by Himself) strangely out of place and un-magical alongside the others, something that often happens with multi-artist collections. But it does make you want to see some of these illustrators doing their own complete Just-so.
